During a time where lockdowns and quarantines are the norms, how do we ensure that we are continuously improving ourselves? Firstly, we must consider the fact that the current situation will force you out of your comfort zone in terms of work and learning. Why should we use the current situation to maximise our productivity and efficiency when it comes to learning? Here are 4 reasons why you should adopt digital learning.

1. Learning through a blended approach

Not being in the classroom does not completely mean that the classroom learning is completely gone. However, modern-day Digital Learning has begun to employ blended learning into online education system providers to keep it the content fresh for its users. A session would consist of percentages of instructor-led training as a percentage of materials and assignments online. Having it this way makes the students feel for connected to the learning experience and would be more motivated towards their end goal – learning.

2. Plan your learning path

Suppose you want to take a course in Business online, you have the flexibility to make your own choices in terms of what you want to be learning at this specific point in time. Granted that you must fulfil the required modules to graduate with a certificate, unlike learning at colleges or universities, you have the authority to designate your learning timeline to complete as per say a course in Business.

Having such digital courses empower you and your choices. For example, you can choose to pick your strong courses now whilst you work on your weaknesses. This is so that when the time comes for you to take a course that you’re weak in, you will be better equipped to handle the troubles and challenges that may come your way as you will be more prepared to take them on.

3. Learn at your own pace

Unlike learning at a college or university, you are not required to take up three to four modules at a time. You can opt to go for one module or two modules if you feel that it may take up too much of your time from other responsibilities (work, family life and etc). Digital Learning gives you the flexibility and readiness to undertake tasks at a time which is convenient for you.

As learning styles contrast, a conventional classroom setting doesn't take learning styles into account. The visual students, the material students, the students through redundancy, they all pass up a major opportunity when a talk is 60 minutes since quite a while ago go through of visual cues on PowerPoint slides. An online stage with different various sorts of assets, gamification, recordings, video contents, worksheets, notes, works out, and so forth. It takes everybody into account and can possibly bring learning inside the range of the individuals who may somehow or another battle.

4. It increases your competitive advantage

Based on a study conducted by Schoology in 2020, 45.4% of the respondents believe that digital learning has very much positively impacted student achievement with another 50.2% responding how digital learning has somewhat impacted students’ achievement. This represents a great testament to the strides digital learning has taken since its inception to this current point in time. However, this also implies that if you aren't equipped to handle digital learning, you may as of now be falling behind. Remaining present and propelling your position requires having the option to all the more likely deal with whatever goes onto your way, and digital learning is probably the simplest methods for getting every one of your workers ready and advancing to a higher information level and a superior created range of abilities.

The ability to learn should be encouraged even though we are at tough times like these – struggling to get through a pandemic with only essential services being allowed to operate. We need to remember that these times are a trough in our life and that we can bounce back better, stronger and smarter from this if we use our time now properly to get ahead of the competition once things get back to normal and are the best that we can be.
